The AP x Swatch Royal Pop comes with two crown positions. A horizontal crown sits at 3 o'clock, like most wristwatches. A vertical crown sits at 12 o'clock, like a pocket watch.
If you want to wear your Royal Pop on your wrist, the horizontal crown is the easier match. A vertical crown watch can still go on your wrist with the right strap, and our Royal Pop strap setup guide shows you how to fit it.

Which Crown Is Better for Wearing on Your Wrist?
The horizontal crown wins for wrist wear. Its side crown matches a regular wristwatch, so these two models give the cleanest strap conversion. Stuff magazine also notes that a 12 o'clock crown leans toward pocket-watch use.
The vertical crown still works well. Choose it if you want:
- More color choices, since six models use it
- A simple two-hand dial
- A watch you switch between lanyard and wrist
Can You Wear the Royal Pop on Your Wrist?
Yes, with a conversion strap. Swatch launched the Royal Pop with a lanyard and no wrist strap, so both styles began as pocket watches.
A conversion kit holds the watch in a frame with a band attached. That frame turns either style into a wristwatch.
How Do You Know Which Strap Fits Your Royal Pop?
Match the strap to your crown position. A horizontal strap will not fit a vertical crown watch, and a vertical strap will not fit a horizontal one.
- Find the crown on your watch.
- A crown at the top means vertical. A crown on the side means horizontal.
- Pick the strap that matches.
Royal Pop Sport Strap Vertical Crown
The Sport Strap Vertical Crown fits the six vertical crown models. It pairs a plastic frame with a soft rubber band, color-matched to your watch.
Royal Pop Sport Strap Horizontal Crown
The Sport Strap Horizontal Crown fits Lan Ba and Otg Roz only. It uses the same frame and rubber band, matched to your colorway.
Both live in our Base Collection. The Essentials and Signature collections add link and metal styles, starting at $115.
Will a Wrist Strap Hurt the Watch?
Our kit clicks around the case. It needs no drilling and no glue, so your watch stays as it came.
Any third-party accessory carries some risk, so follow the fit guide. Royal Conversion is not affiliated with Audemars Piguet or Swatch, and the watch is not included.
